Up to 3 pieces in a series
To be installed mid-Janurary
Johanna Muriel
Johanna’s are completely beautiful, very calming tones in abstract compositions.
Each are watercolour monotypes at 51 x 38cm each and are currently unframed at £695 each mounted on an off-white board.
Joseph Goody
Really promising artists who shows with a number of good gallerists right now with his most recent exhibition at Marlborough. Formerly made the prints for Christopher Le Brun (former Head of the RA). We have a great relationship with him as he shows at Woolwich Contemporary each year. I have put forward his oils on paper which could be mounted and framed like a deeper painting or framed behind glass. This is just an example of some of the pieces he has available to match the abstract shapes. Although they seem bright, the peaches work well with muted tones.

Jo Gorner
Jo Gorner works primarily in editioned prints on paper and drawing. Her practice starts in notebooks with drawing, writing and observations from walking. The controlled, painstaking process of print, the act of making the final work, becomes a way of ‘going to the place’.
The central pivot of Jo’s work is emotion and memory held within a language of place, landscape and the mapping of intimate geographical details. A new landscape is created as a reflection of herself within a place, reframing the landscape to better understand herself within it.
These etchings are all £600 each. Sizes: 60 x 90cm or 60 x 60cm unframed
She has sent images in landscape format but given the abstract nature they can easily be hung portrait.

Felicity Warbeck
Surreal contemporary artist marrying figurative fantasy with Japanese and Western art history and contemporary culture. We awarded her a prize for best in show at last year’s Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair - she produced this series for a solo presentation at this year’s event.
I included them again because the tones and compositions work for the concept but I thought the depictions were quite fun for a nursery.
Each piece is 73 x 59cm
SUGGESTION FOR COMMUNAL LOUNGE. 105 x 139cm
Natasha Michaels
I kept this in from the previous presentation to 30 Crown Place - wild card as not in the brief but the cartoon-like nature might be of interest for a playroom - and there are some muted tones. We have access to many more.
Natasha’s cheeky monotypes reimagining historical portraiture are a brilliant contemporary take on tradition portrait hangs or family portrait galleries of big houses. I have a couple in my own collection and may be taking her on as a gallery artist. She recently completed a residency we host in collaboration with Ushaw Historic House in Durham, where she was inspired to produce pieces based on the documents from Versailles in their collection.

Beatrice Hasell-McCosh
Very popular contemporary painter. Very much on the emerging London scene. Was the 2023 Artist in Residence at Chelsea Flower Show. Solo Exhibition at The Garden Museum in 2022.
I thought the triptych below might be a beautiful alternative to 3 works on paper.
Study For STEVE, 2022. Oil on canvas. 76 x 120cm (triptych) £2500 Unframed

Vicissitude, 2021. Oil on Canvas. 101 x 101cm. £2500 unframed

Bea has a number of works on paper and original watercolour monotypes available through various group shows currently that we can tap in to
Jake Garfield
Plays on the idea of self reflection and masculinity. His use of Jakes or Jacob’s from art history, or contemporary culture, i.e. Jake from Blues Brothers, Jake the Snake (wrestler), Jacob from the Old Testament etc, is a playful, indirect projection of himself. The boxing gloves in this series talk about the frailty of man. This pond series suggests strength on the surface and the weight of experience, knowledge and responsibility beneath. Uses motifs within his work to compare the fine art with the decorative. I had him on residency with the gallery earlier this year. We are working towards a show at The Aukland Project and he has pieces at the V&A, The British Museum, Fitzwilliam and Pallant House among others.
